Nepal India friendship association is one of the oldest non-governmental organizations in Nepal which was designed in 1954 and established officially in 1981 by highly reputed personals in Kathmandu Nepal to maintain the harmony relationship between the Nepal and India, with Indian and Nepalese people. It was established by national Poet Madhav Prasad Ghimire as first chairman with the help of many reputed political and literary people for prosperity of Nepalese and Indian people.
Nepal and India have bilateral ancient relationship. Both are freely democratic country with similar culture, religion, rituals, norms and life style. There are close linguistic, marital, religious and cultural ties at people-to-people level between Indians and Nepalese. Nowadays, Nepal India Friendship Association (NIFA) is working with more than 11000 active lifetime members, all over the Nepal for welfare of Nepalese and Indian people.
